What is Honeydark Creative Studios?

Honeydark Creative Studios is an umbrella creative studio that houses various subsidiaries, including Honeydark Portrait Photography, Honeydark Kids Photography, Playhouse Pin-Up Photography, and Honeydark Design Studio. We provide custom editorial-style photography experiences, design services, visual styling and creative education.

Where are you located and can I walk in anytime?

We are a boutique creative studio currently located in Long Island City, Queens NY. Close to the “Court Square” subway station. We are a private by appointment only studio, so walk-ins are not allowed.

What types of services do you offer?

We offer, portrait photography, kids photography, commercial photography, pin-up/boudoir photography, set & prop design, interior styling, and creative education.

What is “custom photography”?

Custom photography involves creating unique and personalized images tailored to your specific needs, personality, and vision. It goes beyond generic, one-size-fits-all photography, offering a collaborative and artistic approach that results in one-of-a-kind visual imagery. Whether for family portraits, corporate branding, or other purposes, custom photography provides clients with original and distinct images that capture their individuality and message.

What is the typical process for booking a session or event with you?

The typical process to book and complete a session is as follows:

• You first decide which one of our studio suits your needs (Honeydark Portrait Photography, Honeydark Kids Photography, Playhouse Pin-Up Photography, or Honeydark Design Studio).

• The next step is to fill out the contact/quote form on our website. We will respond within 24 hours.

• Once we contact you and complete your initial consultation, you will book your session date. A $200 non-refundable booking fee is required for all photo sessions.

• The studio then begins preparing your photo session concept and mood board based on your consultation, which you approve. We also consult on wardrobe and styling.

• You then show up on the day of your shoot, get transformed, have the time of your life, and head home with a smile!

• The studio then applies professional retouching to your images and invites you back to the studio for your Reveal Session, where you will select your favorite photos, as well as the products you want to purchase as your photo art.

• Your physical products are then created and delivered to your home. Digital products are delivered via a private online gallery. Your experience is then complete!

What is included in a photo experience?

Mini Sessions and Signature Sessions, include pre-consultation, professional photo session and print credit towards any art product purchase, with beauty styling optional. Custom Creative Sessions are more involved and include, pre-consultation, concept design, mood board, set planning/design, wardrobe consultation & styling, and beauty/grooming team, and print credit towards any art product purchase.

How far in advance should I book your services?

Our sessions require a lot of planning. Therefore it is best to book your session at least 3 weeks in advance.

How long does it take to receive my photos after the session or event?

After your session, you will be invited back to the studio for your Reveal Session. At the Reveal Session you will review your photos, decide on your favorites, and select your photo art to purchase, including prints, canvases, metal art, digital collections, etc. Custom physical products take up to 2 weeks. Digital collections are available immediately the day of the Reveal Session.

What don’t you photograph?

We are a portrait studio and do not provide wedding, baby, toddler, birthday, or pet photography.

Who owns the copyright?

As the creator of the photo art, Honeydark Creative Studios and its subsidiaries retain copyright ownership of all images. Non-commercial clients are free to use images for personal non-commercial usage. Commercial clients, brands and organizations must retain a usage license to publicize or use photos created by Honeydark Creative Studios or its subsidiary studios.

Do you offer photo albums, prints, or other products?

Yes! All of our photo services offer a variety of products, including photo albums, prints, wall art, and digital collections.

How much do clients usually spend on their photography?

Clients usually spend around $900 - $1300 for signature photo sessions, including art products. Custom Creative Sessions (including themed sets, and styling) begin at $2399.

Do you charge a deposit when booking?

To secure your session, there is a $200 non-refundable booking fee required, which is put towards the total price of your session. This booking fee reserves your spot on our monthly calendar, which is intentionally limited to only a few sessions per month. This ensures each client receives the utmost attention. This limitation is necessary due to the extensive planning and preparation involved in every session.

I am nervous about having photos created of myself! What do I do?

The first thing you want to do is relax. We are a very welcoming studio with a mission to inspire and empower! We will guide you every step of the way, and you will never feel like you are in the dark about anything! We photograph people of various backgrounds, body types, ages and abilities! We want to celebrate you, but most importantly we want YOU to celebrate YOU!

Will my photos be private?

Although we retain the copyright of all images created by our studios, we do not post or share photos of our clients without a signed written agreement.
